The Dixie Chicks will headline the Craven Country Jamboree in Saskatchewan, Canada, on July 13, according to CMT.
The country act, which did not play a show in 2012, will step in for Lady Antebellum at the festival. Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw are also on the four-day event’s bill. According to the Dixie Chicks’ website, they’ve booked a second Canadian performance at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in Prince Edward Island on July 7.
The gigs are the first the trio’s announced since playing the Concert for Wildfire Relief in Austin, Texas, in Oct. 2011.
Prior to that, the group joined the Eagles on their 2010 summer tour, though they haven’t released a studio album since 2006’s “Taking the Long Way.” In the meantime, members Martie Maguire and Emily Robison formed a side-project, Court Yard Hounds, which released its debut set in 2010. The duo’s self-titled album bowed at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
