With nine cuts that clock in at an underwhelming 37 minutes, this series of snapshots from the famed VH1 program is kind of like the proverbial meat loaf in need of breadcrumbs in order to make it stretch. That said, the material offered is a fun and festive souvenir to a concert that was rife with highlights. Nothing stands out more than the thoroughly enjoyable pairing of Celine Dion and Anastacia for an oddly compelling reading of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me (All Night Long).” Elsewhere, the set has Cher vamping through “Believe” and “(This Is A) Song for the Lonely,” as well as Shakira baring her rocker stripes on a lean, guitar-laced version of her hit “Underneath Your Clothes” and the Dixie Chicks teaming with Stevie Nicks for a delicate “Landslide.” Perhaps most notable is the dominant presence of Dion, who dips into her recent A New Day Has Come opus and makes a convincing bid for listeners to revisit that underrated set.—LF
