College campuses will be getting a taste of the Distillers and Ben Folds this spring.
MTV’s 24-hour college network, mtvU, has inked its first title sponsorship deal with the Distillers and will present the punk rock act across 26 dates. Shows will hit major-market clubs starting March 25 at the Metro in Chicago and ending April 25 at the Hub on the University of California’s Santa Barbara campus. The tour — in support of the Sire album “Coral Fang” — will be promoted through ads and exclusive interviews on mtvU.
Folds will hit primarily Midwest college campuses starting April 2 at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. The outing, which wraps May 8, will support a Sony album due this summer. This follows the release of two solo EPs, “Speed Graphic” and “Sunny 16,” plus a collaboration with Ben Kweller and Ben Lee called the Bens.
