Dispatch, the Boston-based independent rock band, today announced their first summer tour in over a decade and a unique promotion: The group is offering its fans their entire back catalog in exchange for spreading the word about the new tour on social media platforms.
The band’s summer tour, with stops at the Greek Theatre in San Francisco, Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver and the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ outside New York City, is their first in over a decade. In exchange for helping promote the new tour, fans can receive the trio’s four studio albums. This will require friending Dispatch on Facebook, following the band on Twitter and sending five emails to friends. These steps will enable participants to download the band’s albums at no financial cost. More details are available on the bands’s website.
Dispatch has sold more than 600,00 self-released albums on their Bomber Records label and are currently working on their first studio album since 2000’s “Who Are We Living For?.” In 2007 they became the first independent band to sell-out Madison Square Garden, which they did on three-consecutive nights.
Tickets for the tour go on sale at noon on Jan. 28 on their website, but fans who join the band’s fan club will have access to a presale beginning on Jan. 12. Fifty cents from each ticket, which are capped at $40, will go to the band’s Amplifying Education charity.
