West Coast house music label, Dirtybird, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in style by throwing its first ever multi-day festival, Dirtybird Campout.
The quirky, California-based imprint has partnered with seasoned event producers, The Do Lab — the brains behind Lightning in a Bottle and Woogie Weekend — for the inaugural event.
The festival will run from Oct. 2-4, and will feature Dirtybird’s own Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, J Phlip, Kill Frenzy and Justin Jay, among others. In addition to the label’s own roster, house heavyweights like Lee Foss, &ME, Breach, and Benoit & Sergio will perform. Finally, VonStroke and crew have curated a selection of more left-field artists, from Eprom to Lunice and Nosaj Thing.
The event takes place on the picturesque grounds of Oak Canyon Park in Silverado, California: the previous home to Lightning in a Bottle from 2010-2012 as well as the more recent home to Woogie Weekend. Aside from the myriad of artists performing, the festival has also alluded to an array of camp-friendly events, from tug-o-war to campfire s’mores, to select Dirtybird artists taking the role of camp counselors.
The festival expands upon Dirtybird’s grassroots BBQ experience which originally began in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park in the early 2000s and has since evolved into a nationwide concert tour. Embodying the crew’s quintessential values of fun, friendliness, and bass-savvy house music, Dirtybird Campout is the natural next step for the growing imprint.
