Sometimes, deciphering emojis is an art unto itself, but Los Angeles visual artist and rapper Yung Jake takes emoji art to the next level. He’s begun a series of portraits of celebs and cartoon characters, using only emojis to build each perfect visage. It’s stunning, really. Imagine how many hours this dude is staring at light bulbs and tiny carrots.
He’s crafted likenesses of DJs Steve Aoki and Diplo, paid homage to fallen greats Avicii and Aretha Franklin, and even brings animated favorites to life in zanier dimensions.
