Even if you don’t know 26-year-old Starrah, you know her work. She co-wrote some of your favorite 2017 hits, from Drake‘s “Fake Love” to Rihanna‘s “Needed Me,” plus tunes for The Weeknd, Nicki Minaj and more.
The Delaware talent recently stepped out from behind the scenes and started working on her own solo music project. She’s proven she can pop off chart-toppers for the biggest names in the game. Maybe all Starrah needs is a chance to shine with one of the industry’s favorite producers.
That opportunity might be coming via an EP with Diplo. A fan tweeted at the producer that she “can’t wait” for the “potential” Starrah and Diplo EP, to which he replied: “literally lava rocks.” The woman later replied to someone else that the EP was in the works although very “early stages.”
A lot of projects don’t make it past the early stages, so we aren’t holding our breath just yet, but if the news is solid and the music bumps, we might have a potential summer 2018 hit on our hands. Billboard Dance reached out to Diplo’s team for comment.
