Celine Dion and acclaimed Australian photographer Anne Geddes plan to collaborate on a project celebrating birth and life. Due in October 2004, “Miracle” will be distributed through both music retailers and booksellers, according to Dion’s label, Epic.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of Anne Geddes,” Dion says in a statement. “Long before I became a mother, I admired and appreciated the beautiful way she photographs babies.”
“Each new life is truly a miracle,” Geddes adds. “I photograph babies to portray and promote the absolute promise of a newborn, the powerful potential of a child to be an extraordinary human being. Together we are creating a truly unique and special concept.”
Dion is on a brief hiatus from her three-year engagement at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. On Friday, Gloria Estefan will open a seven-night stand in the venue. Dion will resume her performances Oct. 22.
On Tuesday (Oct. 14), Epic will release “Une Fille Et 4 Types,” Dion’s first French-language album in five years.
In other news, Dion is among those who have lent their voices to the Celebrity Talking Dictionary, an initiative launched by Breastcancer.org in partnership with Lifetime Television. The project allows those affected by the disease to hear 500 complex medical terms associated with diagnosis and treatment explained in plain English.
