This summer, rock band Dinosaur Jr. will host a four-day rock camp called Camp Fuzz at the Full Moon Resort in upstate New York’s Catskill Mountains. The musical experience runs July 30 to Aug. 2 and will include master classes, Q&A sessions, performances, arts and crafts and more.
The event promises Dinosaur Jr. fans an intimate look at the workings of the band, the chance to interact with band members and crew, as well as specially crafted experiences, sessions, workshops and activities lead by the band and their friends in a beautiful mountain retreat.
Initial programming includes a pedals clinic with J Mascis, guitar lessons with Mascis, a four-string guitar and ukulele clinic with Lou Barlow, drum workshops with Murph and special guests, as well as performances from the band and solo sets by Barlow and Mascis.
Additional artists and experiences are expected to be announced soon.
“Camp Fuzz with Dinosaur Jr. bridges the gap between artist and audience, offering fans a chance to meet and interact with the band at this pastoral, one hundred acre mountain resort, ‘dedicated to the celebration of music and the arts in nature,’” the band’s Facebook page reads.
Tickets for Camp Fuzz begin at $999 per person and include three nights of lodging, all meals, workshops, performances and use of rehearsal spaces and equipment. Attendees can choose from tent or in-vehicle camping or bed and break style rooms at the resort. The grounds offer a spring-fed swimming pool, 100 acres of meadows, forests and streams providing a natural backdrop.
