Everyone’s music seems to have a heavy Caribbean vibe right now. The island life has all these producers in a perfumed stranglehold, and Dillon Francis is no different – well, knowing Francis, maybe a little different.
The funnyman and genre-less producer has been posting up on social media, teasing fans with pics of himself working on his new album in the Dominican Republic with some fire collaborators. Smooth Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Arcangel is rolling with him, as is Dominican trap rapper Quimico Ultra Mega.
To be fair, Francis has been on this tilt for quite some time. In a November interview with triple j, the L.A. artist announced that he had a sophomore album in the works and declared his intention to “work more with Latin artists and do more stuff that’s very Spanglish, Moombahton style.”
It looks like the beats they’re cooking up are gonna be hella fuego based on emojis alone. Stay tuned for more news of forthcoming sounds, and check some of these teaser posts below.
