– Ad-supported music service Qtrax added a licensing agreement with Sony BMG to add the major label’s catalog to the site. That’s three of the four major labels now signed, with Warner Music Group the last holdout.
– Music ID service Shazam added 2 million tracks to its database of recognized songs, thanks to a variety of new partnerships and sourcing actions. It now has 8 million songs covered.
– Music licensing site Rumblefish has announced a partnership with Youtube, which will allow users to select music from their catalog and add it, using the site’s Audio Swap feature, to their videos. Rumblefish’s catalog includes 25,000 tracks from a variety of genres.
