— Mobile content provider Mobile Streams launched a version of its direct-to consumer online ringtone store in the U.S. Ringtones.com has more than 20,000 ringtones for sale, which mobile users can buy online and have sent to their mobile phones, and is compatible with most U.S. operators. The service originated in the U.K. and has also expanded into Argentina.
— The Pre-Order Club for The Beatles: Rock Band videogame went live today (May 5), as developer Harmonix and MTV Games also announced the replica Rickenbacker 325 and Gretsch Duo Jet guitar controllers made specifically for the upcoming game will also be available as standalone items. The two plastic guitars join the previously announced Hofner bass controller.
Anyone who pre-orders the game at participating retailers will receive an access code to join the Pre-Order Club, where they can get breaking news and exclusive making-of details (which every game blog in the world will then post for all others not in the club to access as well).
