– Metal Blade Records has signed a distribution deal with INgrooves. The 26-year-old indie label has been home to artists including Slayer, Metallica and GWAR.
– 3 Doors Down will be featured in a new music video game dubbed “PopStar Guitar,” from videogame publisher XS Games.
– Universal Music Group has linked with Web-based chat company Meebo to bring ad-supported music videos to the service. As part of the partnership’s launch, UMG artists Kanye West, Ludacris, and the Killers, will be featured on the Meebo homepage and Meebo chat rooms will be embedded on UMG’s artist sites.
– Social music service iLike is looking for a buyer, according to MediaMemo. The company is soliciting offers from a list of potential buyers that includes current stakeholder Ticketmaster (it owns 25% of iLike) and RealNetworks.
