– There’s more talk of the major labels creating a single online music video spot. According to the Financial Times, plans under discussion include “a partnership with Hulu, the online television and film joint venture between News Corp and NBC Universal; the creation of a premium service on YouTube, Google’s video sharing site; or, a standalone venture between some or all of the four largest recorded music groups.”
– A mid-trial RIAA appeal in the Jammie Thomas case was refused Dec. 23. As tech blog Ars Technica points out, the RIAA will have to wait until a final judgment has been issued before filing another appeal.
