– Apple’s iTunes App Store has reached 1 billion downloads, just nine months after it launched, the company revealed. The company has not yet named the person who downloaded the milestone app, but that person will win a $10,000 iTunes credit, a 17-inch MacBook Pro, a 32 GB iPod touch, and other items. Research Firm mobileSQUARED, who correctly predicted the date by which the milestone would be reached, estimates an average of more than 5.1 million apps are downloaded a day.
– The Rock Band videogame is adding Jane’s Addictions’ “Nothing Shocking” in its entirety to the in-game Music Store for download. Gamers can buy each song individually or as a complete album. It will be available April 28 for Xbox 360 and Wii users, and April 30 for the PlayStation3
