Dido unveiled her newest single, “Give You Up” and it’s a lesson in moving on.
“You don’t, you don’t get under my skin no more/No, it’s gone, it’s gone/I ain’t thinking ’bout you no more,” she belts in the airy, grand melody, written by Dee Adam, Si Hubert and Australian duo The Opposite Kids (Danny Thakrar and Rob Agostini), as Dido tells her ex that the heartbreak won’t ruin her.
“It’s a good break up song, where you’ve been hurt but feel strong,” she said of the tune. “It’s that point in a relationship where you are pulling yourself out of the gutter and deciding that it’s their loss. Which I can totally relate to.”
“Give You Up” will appear on Dido’s first album in five years, Still On My Mind, out March 8, before she embarks on a world tour throughout the year. Listen to “Give You Up” below.
