The former Supremes leader posted her first messages to the social media site Wednesday (June 3) under the name “Ms. Ross.” For the moment, Ross has only followed five people on the platform: her children Tracie, Evan, Rhonda, Chudney and Ross Naess. The diva’s first tweet simply announced her arrival on the platform, saying, “I am on Twitter now and loving it.”
The second tweet promoted her son Evan’s current single “How to Live Alone,” which features T.I. The track has made an impact on the real-time Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart, where it climbed to No. 1 last month.
During her legendary career, Ms. Ross has compiled several hits on the Billboard Hot 100. With the Supremes, Ross tallied 12 leaders on the Motown label from 1964-1969, which included classics such as “Stop! In the Name of Love” and “You Can’t Hurry Love.” Following her departure from the group in 1970, Ross collected six No. 1s a solo artist, including “Love Hangover” and her hit duet with Lionel Richie, “Endless Love.”
