As tipped here last month, Depeche Mode has tacked another leg of North American dates onto previously announced shows in San Francisco (April 27) and Indio, Calif., (April 29, headlining the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival). At deadline, the tour runs through May 21 in Bristow, Va., but more dates are expected.
Depeche Mode will spend the summer touring Europe before wrapping its live commitments Aug. 3 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Keyboardist Andrew Fletcher recently told Billboard.com the group was considering dates in South America and Australia but added, “We have no plans further than that, apart from having a really good holiday!”
The roadwork comes in support of the album “Playing the Angel,” which spawned the No. 1 Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart hit “Precious.” A live DVD chronicling two recent shows in Milan is being prepared for a September release, according to Fletcher.
