Demi Lovato has always been commited to various social causes. But for her upcoming tour, she’s taking things a step further and eschewing a traditional opening act in favor of something a bit more inspiring.
She’s asking a man named Spencer West, an “author, motivational speaker, activist and friend,” to share his story with audiences. “This is a different kind of tour and one of the things that makes it so special is my friend, Spencer. I’m so honored to have him on tour with me sharing his beautiful and empowering message with all of us,” Lovato wrote on her Facebook page.
Lovato isn’t the first artist to use her Facebook page to promote social good. Alicia Keys recently made headlines for releasing inspiring her song “We Are Here” on the social platform, and Miley Cyrus shared information about L.A.’s youth homelessness problem.
