Demi Lovato’s attempt to lighten the mood of the election with a little humor fell flat when some fans took offense to a political joke she attempted on Twitter.
Lovato — who is supporting Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for president — tried to frame Republican Donald Trump’s lewd remarks on an Access Hollywood hot mic in a humorous manner in the since-deleted tweet.
“Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and grab some pussy,” she wrote in the original tweet.

She later backtracked on Twitter. “I apologize for the joke I made earlier..seemed to offend some people,” she wrote. “Just making light of the election.”

Loyal Lovatics jumped to the “Confident” singer’s defense, with @TimmyWells chiming in, “People will be offended no matter what, keep slaying <3.”
Earlier on her Twitter feed, Lovato let her fans know she was voting for Clinton but respected everyone’s right to be heard.?
Personally #ImWithHer, but regardless – it’s so important that all Americans vote tomorrow no matter what.
