As the sun set over the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Demi Lovato–who was in Sin City for the “fight of the century” the night before–began to sing her party-starting single, “Sorry, Not Sorry,” telecast live to the MTV VMAs in Los Angeles. While she was surrounded by swimsuit-clad fans in the hotel’s pool, Lovato donned a flattering and curve-hugging custom electric blue body suit.
“We thought ‘how can we make this different?’ It’s a more sophisticated and sexy pool party,” image architect Law Roach told Billboard. After discussing with the singer and one of their fashion designer favorites, Bryan Hearns, the final result was an asymmetrical, electric blue bodysuit with black mesh chaps custom made by Hearns. Never one to shy away from a bold fashion moment, Lovato accessorized her dual-tone look with a pair of strappy, bright blue Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and medium-large hoop earrings. To amp up her beauty game, Lovato went with a slightly more dramatic version of her red carpet look, wearing glossy eyelids, smokey liner and a sleek straight high pony instead of mermaid-length beachy waves.
