About two weeks ago, deadmau5 confronted seemingly the one person he’d yet to face off against — himself. The producer has long been known for starting troll fights against other DJs and producers, never afraid to speak his mind about issues or others on social media.
Things came to an especially ugly place, however, when he made fun of Slushii’s music during a live stream session on Twitch. He called the music “autistic,” only to later find out via an admission of Slushii’s that the producer does struggle with mild autism. In light of that realization, deadmau5 decided to step away from social media and seek help for his own mental health issues, which seemingly cause him to lash out at others in public forums.
In a recent update to Twitter, deadmau5 confirmed that he is “on the right track” and “feeling better,” although he’s not ready to return to social media just yet. He handed the log-ins for his Twitter over to management, so they can keep fans up to date on his musical offerings and tour schedule. He also confirmed that upcoming European dates still stand, and thanked his fans for their messages of support.
