Bigger ain’t always better, especially when you’re paying to ship massive, high-tech equipment overseas. Those charges really rack up, but no one wants to go see deadmau5 play without some kind of shiny object. It just wouldn’t be fair if the European market was left out of all the fun of his brilliant Cube 2.1 DJ booth, which stunned audiences across America this year as the centerpiece of his Lots of Shows in a Row Tour.
Since traveling with that 19-foot, 10,500-pound monster is expensive and difficult, and since it just kind of doesn’t fit a lot of venues, deadmau5 decided it was time for a shrinking ray. He wanted an exact replica that could be smaller but just as effective. It took a lot of work, but his buddies at All Things LED pulled it off, and here it is.
deadmau5 is scheduled to hit a few festivals throughout Europe in the summer. He’ll be announcing more dates for the “lots of shows in a row” tour soon. Check out the specs and previews of Cube 2.2 below.
