
Back in 2010, deadmau5 quipped that of all the goals he had in his life, scoring a film was an urge he itched to scratch.
“I’m dying to do a score,” he told Billboard in 2010. “Not something that would be sold separately, and I don’t want to write a fuckload of music and license it to the film. I want to get in there with the film monitor. Clint Mansell [Requiem for a Dream, Pi] is one of my heroes.”
Today, he’s closer than ever to fulfilling his dream — or at least that’s what it seems in a recent post to Instagram.
“First time mixing for a film,” he captions, “so much fun!”
From the attached audio, his work sounds super moody and techy. What film it may eventually accompany is anyone’s guess. Check the clip for yourself below.
