Starting Monday night (April 13), there are only 28 more broadcasts of The Late Show With David Letterman to go before the late-night mainstay ends his 33-year reign.
CBS unveiled part of the lineup for his final run of shows, and it features some of the biggest names in Hollywood — George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hanks, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell — as well as some substantial names in music.
Watch Will Ferrell Sing ‘Danny Boy’ on ‘Letterman’
Mumford & Sons, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Tom Waits, The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, and Norah Jones will perform on Letterman before it ends forever.
Also scheduled: Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley and Amos Lee, Iron & Wine and Ben Bridwell, Tracy Chapman, Chris Stapleton and Asleep at the Wheel.
The press release promises more special guests will be announced. My prediction? Bette Midler stops by for a heartfelt, emotional musical sendoff.
