Magic tends to happen when hanging with your BFFs, and longtime pals David Guetta and Martin Solveig are no exception to this rule. The venerable producers have been close friends for years, both rising through the French house scene and then onto charts and festival mainstages worldwide.
In June, the duo were together in the studio in Ibiza, teasing a collaboration via Instagram. Now, that track is here and premiering exclusively on Billboard Dance below. “Thing for You” is a sophisticated and sublimely pretty house-influenced homage to the intoxicating feeling of loving someone who might not be great for you, but who’s also simultaneously irressistible to you. Built on a dually husky and ethereal female vocal and effervescent beat, the song is an obvious hit that’s certain to heat up dance floors this summer.
“Thing for You” is out Friday, via FFRR, the Pete Tong-led label that’s celebrating its 30-year anniversary this year. The song follows collaboration master Guetta’s recent track “Instagram,” with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Daddy Yankee and Afro Bros & Natti Natashi.
Meanwhile, Guetta and Solveig are both dominating the White Isle this summer via their Ibiza residences, with Guetta at Ushuaia and Solveig at Pacha.
