Legendary musician David Crosby is the new voice of a campaign to legalize recreational marijuana in North Dakota.
The founding member of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the Byrds is doing a radio ad that begins airing Thursday. KFGO says Crosby is encouraging voters to pass Measure 3 on the ballot to end adult marijuana arrests and let police focus on violent crime.
Opponents say legalizing marijuana will lead to an increase in violent crimes, impaired driving and workplace problems. Supporters of the measure dispute that.
The proposal seeks to legalize marijuana for people 21 and older and also seal the records of anyone convicted of a marijuana-related crime that would be made legal under the measure.
