David Chase’s directorial debut, “Not Fade Away,” will be screened as part of the Billboard Hollywood Reporter Film and TV Music Conference on Oct. 23.
The screening will take place at 7 p.m. on the Paramount lot the night prior to the start of the conference Oct. 24 and 25 at the W Hotel in Hollywood. Chase will participate in a Q&A after the screening. A wine and cheese reception will follow the Q&A.
Set in 1964, “Not Fade Away” is the story of three best friends living in New Jersey who decide to form a rock band after seeing the Rolling Stones appear on television. Chase, the creator of HBO’s “The Sopranos,” wrote and directed the film.
Paramount Vantage will release “Not Fade Away” on Dec. 21. Chase and Mark Johnson produced the film.
It stars James Gandolfini, John Magaro, Jack Huston, Will Brill, Bella Heathcote, Brad Garrett and Christopher McDonald. Steven Van Zandt is the film’s music supervisor.
All conference attendees are invited to the screening as art of their registration. To register for the event, sign up here (and use code BIZ12 to save $50).
This year’s conference also includes: keynote speakers Epic Records Chairman L.A. Reid and pop superstar Christina Aguilera; “Breaking Bad”‘s creator, composer and music supervisor; and Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla.
