Not quite two years ago, David Bowie broke a 10-year hiatus with the release of The Next Day. And back in July, Bowie put rumors that this was a one-off comeback to rest by revealing he was working on another brand new album.
Now, longtime producer Tony Visconti is teasing the next album from the British/extraterrestrial rock icon. “There’s gonna be another album, definitely soon,” Visconti told CNN.
David Bowie Promises ‘More Music Soon’
While that’s great news for fans — The Next Day was a stronger effort than his prior album, Reality — don’t hold your breath for Bowie’s return to the stage. “I don’t think he’s gonna busk in the Tube… on the Underground. As far as a concert is concerned I have no idea,” Visconti said. “He clearly didn’t promote The Next Day with a concert and whether he does for the next one I don’t know and I couldn’t predict that — it’s up to him. It’s whatever takes his fancy.”
No word on when the new disc might drop, but a Bowie greatest hits comp featuring a brand-new song — “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime),” produced by Visconti — will come out in November.
