Music industry veteran Jose Luis Villarreal has been appointed as the new manager for Spanish star David Bisbal. Villarreal will be working through Global Talent Services (GTS), the management division of Universal Music Latin America, which handles Bisbal, a Universal artist.
Villarreal has worked in multiple areas of the music industry, including the artistic development and management of “La Academia,” the Mexican music reality show that launched the career of Yuridia and Yahir. Villarreal also designed and launched marketing campaigns for acts such as Juan Gabriel and Alejandra Guzman.
Villarreal takes over for Pepo Ferradas, who had been managing Bisbal for the last two years and helped launch GTS. Ferradas leaves to pursue other interests.
GTS was created by Universal Music Latin Entertainment to provide support to artists’ managers throughout the region.
