Dave Matthews Band has announced a nine-date arena tour, set to kick off Dec. 10 Tampa, Fla., and wrap Dec. 22 in Washington, D.C. Beforehand, Matthews will play a solo show Oct. 24 at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall, with proceeds benefiting the Pacific Northwest environmental protection organization the Bullitt Foundation. Tickets for the arena shows begin going on sale Oct. 26 via Ticketmaster.
Perennially one of the most successful touring acts in the world, DMB wrapped an extensive North American trek Sept. 8 outside Seattle. According to box-office numbers submitted to Billboard, the band grossed $52 million from 66 summer shows, drawing 1.3 million fans.
The group will be out making another push behind its latest RCA album, “Busted Stuff,” which debuted in July at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.4 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single “Where Are You Going” is No. 3 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 Tracks chart.
On Nov. 5, DMB will issue the next title in its ongoing series of live albums. “Live at Folsom Field,” held July 11, 2001, in Boulder, Colo., will also be available on DVD/VHS. It features staples such as “Crash Into Me,” “Recently,” “What Would You Say,” and “Ants Marching” alongside the unreleased “JTR” and “Fish Monkey Man.”
