Dave Matthews gave some of his SiriusXM subscribers a special treat on Wednesday (Sept. 11) at the broadcasting company’s new performance space, The Garage, in Los Angeles.
A handful of lucky fans won the opportunity to pack into the space, coming face-to-face with the crooner as he delved into an hour-and-a-half set of fan favorites spanning the artist’s career.
Matthews weaved anecdotes about each of his songs, discussing his neighbors, kids and his childhood, all with his characteristic sense of humor which had the audience laughing between singing along to some of their favorite songs.
Dave Matthews Band Radio, an exclusive limited-run SiriusXM channel, launched earlier this year and was recently extended through Oct. 15. Of course, the station plays DMB’s music, but also presents the DMB Friday Night Concert Series which includes exclusive broadcasts of live concerts from the band’s recent tour.
The intimate concert comes a few weeks ahead of Howard Stern’s Los Angeles radio specials’ Hollywood official opening for SiriusXM and Pandora on Oct. 7. The Garage, the new state-of-the-art performance space at SiriusXM’s LA studios, will be used for live music, talk and comedy performances and special events.
Check out performances of “Crush” and “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)” from the exclusive concert below.
