Acoustic punk-leaning outfit Dashboard Confessional will launch its first tour of the new year March 1 in Fort Worth, Texas, wrapping April 17 on its home turf of Pompano, Fla. The band, led by singer/songwriter Chris Carrabba, is booked for two-night stands in a number of cities, including Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The tour comes in support of Dashboard’s second full-length set, “The Places You Have Come To Fear the Most” (Vagrant), which is No. 23 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums chart this week.
The album’s first single, “Screaming Infidelities,” was recently remixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Jeff Buckley) and appears on the new compilation “MTV2 Handpicked” (Columbia). Last month, Dashboard also released the four-song “So Impossible EP,” featuring guitar accompaniment by former Sunny Day Real Estate principal Dan Hoerner.
