Dutch DJ/producer Dannic performed in several shows across Asia this year, and recently performed in Tokyo for the DiA Tokyo 1st Anniversary event. Billboard Radio China had a chance to have a chat with Dannic to keep updated with his music and future plans.
Dutch powerhouse label Spinnin’ Records announced they had signed Dannic to an exclusive deal with their imprint. “It’s a big dream come true,” Dannic said when he talked about his first release with Spinnin’ Records, which is a collaboration with his icon, Fedde Le Grand, in a clubby-style track called “Coco’s Miracle”.
Besides the release with Spinnin’ Records, Dannic’s own record label, Fonk Recordings, released their exclusive ADE 2017 EP, showcasing some new music coming from a range of already-established artists as well as up-and-coming producers, giving new and talented producers the platform to release the funkiest records around.
The 31-year-old Dutchman began his DJ career 12 years ago. He earned his stripes by playing music in clubs and started to draw the attention of the spotlight after winning the Dancetour remix competition in 2009. Since then, he repeatedly blows away fans with a slew of sensational releases, and of course, major DJ shows.
Dannic is also famous for his friendship with Hardwell. The relationship had a “romantic” start, when the pair met in a club in Breda 10 years ago. Dannic was sitting there, sipping beer, and they were soon connected to each other with music.
“We have the same passion on the same type of music; it’s really cool,” Dannic said.
They still talk to each other every day, and the two are always joking around and making fun. In a three-word description of this close compatriot, Dannic used “passion, laughter and party.”
Wishing to reach more people with his music, Dannic will collaborate with Romanian artist Inna at the end of this year. He will also perform in upcoming festivals and shows in Amsterdam with Jay Hardway on Oct. 22, Jigsaw Music Festival in Macau on Nov. 19, and Emperica in Jakarta on Dec. 8.
