Concertgoers may do a double-take this fall during Miley Cyrus’ “Best of Both Worlds” arena tour, which will find the 14-year-old singer/actress performing songs as herself and as the lead character in the popular Disney TV series “Hannah Montana.”
The 54-date North American trek launches Oct. 18 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis and wraps Jan. 9, 2008, at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. Tickets go on sale Aug. 18, with prices ranging from $26 to $66, according to organizers. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to biomedical research and treatment center City of Hope.
The tour will support Cyrus’ double album “Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus” (Walt Disney/Hollywood), which has sold 929,000 copies in the United States since its June 26 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The set debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200, beating out Kelly Clarkson’s “My December.”
The “Hannah/Miley” album is a two-disc, 20-song set evenly divided between music from Cyrus’ TV series and her debut studio album. The first “Hannah Montana” soundtrack also debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 last October with 281,000 first-week sales.
Each concert will open with New Jersey trio and Hollywood labelmates Jonas Brothers, followed by Cyrus performing songs as Hannah Montana. As herself, she will also perform songs from “Meet Miley Cyrus.”
