Sets by Linkin Park, DMX, Obie Trice, Pennywise and the return of rapper Ice-T’s hard rock band Body Count will be among the highlights of Cypress Hill’s sixth annual Smoke Out festival. Set for Nov. 15 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, Calif., the show will also feature a diverse lineup of rock, hip-hop and DJ acts.
Others confirmed to appear on the concert’s live music stages are Cee-Lo, From The Ashes, Papa Roach, Superjoint Ritual, Hatebreed, M.O.P., Hieroglyphics, Israel Vibrations, MC Supernatural and Boo Yaa Tribe. Making up the electronic contingent and performing in the Massive Stoned Garden will be Christopher Lawrence, Doc Martin, DJ Dan, Miguel Migs, Roy Davis Jr., Barry Weaver, Lenny V., Ron D Core and DJ Reza.
Keeping with tradition, the event will feature a special surprise performance at 4:20 p.m., a time that holds symbolic significance in the marijuana-smoking community. Last year’s Smoke Out boasted a set by Bone Thugs N Harmony, Mos Def and former Guns N’Roses guitarist Slash.
Organizers promise they are working to make the Smoke Out festival “as enjoyable, safe and memorable as possible.” Tickets are already on sale via Ticketmaster. More information can be found at the event’s Web site.
Highlights of last year’s fifth annual event will be released Nov. 25 on DVD via Eagle Vision. Retailing for $20.98, “The Smoke Out Festival” features performances by Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Everlast, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Kottonmouth Kings and the Circle Jerks.
