Josh Groban will next be seen performing on Princess Cruises, owned by Carnival Corporation. The Warner Bros. artist will not be performing live, however. His hi-definition image will be projected onto five of the 17 cruise ships owned by Princess Cruises starting later this month. The DVD being screened is “Awake Live,” a recording of his performance at Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena on August 28, 2007.
The cruise line has shown concerts in the past with artists such as Beyoncé, Diana Krall and Tina Turner. However, what makes this screening different is that the DVD being shown and other Josh Groban related merchandise will be for sale at the ship’s boutique during the length of the cruise.
D & E Entertainment, a marketing firm specializing in getting non-movies shown in theaters and other places, was involved in the deal.
