The Black Crowes have tapped My Morning Jacket and the North Mississippi Allstars for a New Year’s Eve show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, marking the reunited rock act’s first headlining concert at the venue. Tickets go on sale Saturday (Oct. 22) via Ticketmaster.
The Crowes are in the midst of their last scheduled touring leg, which encompasses a five-night stand at Los Angeles’ Henry Fonda Theatre that kicks off tomorrow. No shows are scheduled between an Oct. 31 Halloween gig in Chicago and the New Year’s concert.
“At this point in time, we have not discussed any future domestic touring plans,” Crowes manager Pete Angelus says. “It has always been our intention to gauge the future of the band, not by the memories and successes of the past, but rather by the group’s collective feelings of the present.”
As previously reported, a five-night run of shows at San Francisco’s Fillmore was filmed for a DVD, with a release date and label to be announced.
My Morning Jacket is touring North American in support of its brand new ATO/RCA album, “Z,” which debuted last week at No. 67 on The Billboard 200. North Mississippi Allstars will return to live duty Oct. 29 at the Vegoose Festival in Las Vegas.
