Mark Crossingham has been appointed the new managing director of Universal Music Ireland effective Sept. 1.
Crossingham, who will be reporting to Universal Music U.K. and Ireland’s commercial director Brian Rose, brings to his new appointment a wealth of experience at Universal Music Group International (UMGI).
His 12 years at the company includes his current post as GM of UMGI’s Concord Music Group for the past two years. He has also been deputy managing director for Universal Island, senior VP international at Universal Music U.K., and head of Universal Music U.K.’s international marketing unit.
Universal says his promotion comes at a time when the company is developing strategies to retain its position as the Ireland’s biggest music company.
“With our new partnerships with the likes of Bravado and Sky, Universal Music is uniquely placed to bring many new ideas to the Irish market, which will be of huge benefit to our artists, business partners and customers,” said Crossingham in a statement.
Crossingham replaces Dave Pennefather, who is stepping down after 24 years with UMGI, and has been managing director of Universal Music Ireland since 1999. Pennefather continues at the company as chairman emeritus.
