Jason Aldean claims his seventh leader on Country Songs — his first in almost a year — as “Fly Over States” stacks 37.9 million impressions (up 2.4 million) and steps 2-1 on the audience-ranked chart.
He most recently topped the list when “Dirt Road Anthem” crowned the July 30, 2011 chart, followed by a No. 2 peak with “Tattoos on This Town” in December, which remains the artist’s best rank and lone top 10 achievement to date on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 7). The new No. 1 is the fifth radio single from Aldean’s 2010 My Kinda Party album-the title track rose to No. 2 in January 2011, followed by three weeks at No. 1 two months later with “Don’t You Wanna Stay” (with Kelly Clarkson).

Leading audience stations for “States” during the May 7-13 Nielsen BDS tracking week are WUSN Chicago (1.4 million impressions), KKGO Los Angeles (1.0 million), WYCD Detroit (765,000), KEEY Minneapolis (749,000) and KMNB Minneapolis (742,000). With 40,000 downloads during the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week, “States” ranks at No. 7 in its 13th week on Country Digital Songs.
On Country Albums, “My Kinda Party” bullets at No. 7 with 16,000 copies in its 80th chart week, and has never dipped below No. 9 during its entire run on the list — it fell to that position just once (May 12 chart). It debuted with 193,000 copies at No. 2 in November 2010, logging 12 weeks at the summit since then.
Also noteworthy on Country Songs, Luke Bryan achieves his eighth top 10 as “Drunk on You” gains 2.6 million impressions and jumps 11-9. The track moves 78,000 downloads and steps 3-2 on the digital list. Concurrently, Brantley Gilbert grabs his second top 10 on the radio chart with “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” which improves 1.8 million impressions and advances 13-10. Gilbert’s first song to compete in the upper tier was his first charted single, “Country Must Be Country Wide,” which reached the summit in December. His new single ranks at No. 21 with 18,000 downloads in its 21st week on Country Digital Songs.
Meanwhile, the third single from Eric Church’s album “Chief” holds for a second straight week (third cumulative) at No. 1 on Country Digital Songs (78,000). On Country Songs, “Springsteen” shifts 8-6 in its 15th chart week, while “Chief” moves 19,000 copies to rank at No. 5 in its 42nd chart week.
Country Albums and the Billboard 200 are led for a second week by Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away,” which sells 120,000 copies.
