Concord Music Group has appointed music attorney Larry Blake as senior VP of business affairs and general counsel, a newly created position within the company. He will report directly to Concord Music Group president, Glen Barros.
Blake has spent 27 years with law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and will remain of counsel to the firm, where he will continue to represent a few key clients. Over the course of his career, Blake has represented clients in different aspects of the music industry, including record labels and music publishers, as well as recording artists and songwriters. His clients include Anschutz Entertainment Group, The Eagles and Cher.
Blake also worked closely with Concord for over a decade. In 2004, he represented the company in it’s acquisition of Fantasy, Inc. “Larry has been an essential part of Concord’s success for over ten years,” says Barros. “We are delighted that he is now joining our team on a full-time basis. His knowledge and counsel will be invaluable in shaping Concord’s future growth.”
Concord’s catalog includes works by Rosemary Clooney, John Coltrane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Thelonious Monk, Tito Puente, and Mel Torme.
