Three familiar hip-hop names return to stores this week via their own compilations, led by “Ludacris Presents…Disturbing Tha Peace.” The follow-up to 2001’s “Golden Grain,” the compilation includes such tracks as “Gettin’ Some” by Shawnna, “Table Dance” by Bobby Valentino and “Future Thugs,” featuring Ghostface Killah, Redman and Icarus. Jamie Foxx and rappers Uncle Luke, Stat Quo and Rich Boy also make guest appearances.
Elsewhere, Snoop Dogg crowns a new deal for his Doggystyle imprint via Koch with “Snoop Dogg Presents Welcome To Tha Chuuch Tha Album.” The disc is an expansion of Snoop’s “Welcome to Da Chuuch” seven-volume mixtape series and includes new music from The Dogg Pound Fam, Nate Dogg, Kurupt, Lady Rage, and Daz Dillinger, as well as newcomers Tiffany Foxxx, RBX, Soopafly, Half-Dead, Mira-Mira, Mykestro.
Finally, noted DJ Funkmaster Flex offers up the CD/DVD “Car Show Tour” via Koch. In addition to footage of rappers like 50 Cent, T.I., David Banner, Foxy Brown, and Fabolous, the DVD highlights the custom cars of hip-hop artists like Ludacris, Lil’ Kim, Nelly and Wyclef Jean. The accompanying CD features unreleased material from Nas, Jadakiss, Juelz Santana, Beanie Siegel, Paul Wall and others.
