Houston-based Compadre Records has launched a management arm and signed Warner Bros. Nashville recording artist Rick Trevino as a client. Trevino is both a solo artist and a member of the group Los Super Seven.
Compadre founder and president Brad Turcotte had already been managing Compadre singer/songwriter Billy Joe Shaver for a year, but never officially launched a management division of the company until now. Shaver’s latest album, “Tribute To Billy Joe Live,” is due May 17 and includes guest appearances from Guy Clark, Robert Earl Keen, Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and others.
Turcotte says he’d like to pick up one more client for the management division. The label’s roster includes Suzy Bogguss, Kate Campbell, Kevn Kinney, Flaco Jimenez and James McMurtry, among others.
