Common has three projects underway for 2013. While stopping by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday (Jan. 2), the rapper/actor said he plans to release an EP, mixtape and album this year.
“I’m coming out with an EP at the end of this month that will be accompanying the movie ‘LUV’,” Common told Fallon. “And then I got a mixtape, my first mixtape I ever done in my life, will be coming out in April. And then an album in September.”
All three will arrive a year after the release of Common’s “The Dreamer, The Believer.” His ninth studio album peaked at No. 4 on Rap Albums and No. 5 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Aside from his musical projects, Common’s film, “Luv,” which he also produced, hits theaters on January 18.
“It’s a coming of age story for an inner city kid who actually goes out with his uncle for a day,” he shared. “His uncle wants to show him the good parts of life but he ends up teaching how to be a man and shows him the good and the bad.”
