Reissue imprint Collectors’ Choice is launching a new imprint to focus on rock and alternative releases dubbed Noble Rot. The first offerings are due June 26, and include releases from Grant Lee Buffalo, Robin Hitchcock, Hunters & Gatthers and Yngwie Malmsteen.
Collectors Choice GM Gordon Anderson says all initial Noble Rot releases are being licensed from the Warner Music Group. The major will maintain digital rights, says Anderson, and Collectors’ Choice will have rights to the albums for three years.
He’s looking for Noble Rot to continue to expand with more releases from the ’80s and ’90s. “In the beginning, it’s going to be Warner Music-owned, but we’re interested in branching out beyond the majors, be it bands who have their masters or some indies,” says Anderson.
Collectors Choice is distributed via the Infinity Entertainment Group.
