U.K. rock quartet Coldplay has added a host of dates to its 2003 North American tour, which, as previously reported, will kick off Jan. 21 in Orlando, Fla. The trek in support of the group’s sophomore Capitol set, “A Rush of Blood to the Head,” is now extended through March 13 in Minneapolis. In addition, Coldplay will appear Dec. 16 on CBS’ “The Late Show With David Letterman.”
December will find the group making pre-tour appearances at six radio-station sponsored holiday concerts, beginning Dec. 8 at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas in Los Angeles and proceeding to similar events in San Francisco, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
“A Rush of Blood to the Head” debuted in September at No. 1 on the U.K. album chart and No. 5 on The Billboard 200. First single “In My Place” reached No. 17 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart; second single “The Scientist” debuted last month at No. 10 on the U.K. singles chart.
