British bass music artist Zomboy is back with a debut album and a monstrous single ready-made for the main stage.
“WTF!?,” the first track released off Zomboy’s forthcoming full-length “The Outbreak,” features a glitched vocal line and filtered synthesizers that give way to a dirty festival-focused drop, replete with jagged electro synths and sampled crowd noise. Listen to the full premiere of “WTF!?” exclusively on Billboard CODE:
Zomboy said his new single was inspired by a series of New Years Eve shows he played in the United States last year.
“I was hearing a lot of stuff at those shows that really inspired me to take the ideas that I flirted with in my song ‘Raptor’, and strip them back even more,” Zomboy exclusively told Billboard. “There’s something beautiful about a huge wall of sound in a build up that makes way for the energy release with the exact opposite – basically a well engineered kick drum!”

While the single marks somewhat of a stylistic departure from his earlier dubstep-inspired releases, Zomboy sought to reassure fans while embracing elements of big room house.
“I don’t want people to think that I’m abandoning my roots as a bass artist, but I really enjoyed making it and I really enjoy playing it,” Zomboy said. “If you can’t make yourself happy with your own music, how can you expect anyone else to enjoy it?”
“The Outbreak” is slated for an August release on Never Say Die Records. The British artist will embark upon a 28-date American tour starting May 16, with support from Cookie Monsta, TC and Eptic.
