After inventing the Melbourne Bounce sub-genre last year, Will Sparks is back to make sure no one mistakes it for anything else.
The 21-year-old Aussie’s aptly named new single, “This Is What The Bounce Is,” is a rollicking Melbourne Bounce blueprint centered on his trademark upbeat bass stabs and complimentary synthesizer flourishes. The track also incorporates a number of new aspects as Sparks continues to expand his fledgling sound’s creative frontiers.
“I’ve mixed aspects of the classic bounce sound with a few new elements, including using my own voice,” says Sparks. “I’ve warped it a little so you might not recognize it as me.”

Sparks says the track has been well represented in his recent DJ sets and the positive crowd responses it elicited convinced him to unleash the production this summer.
“I thought now was the perfect time to get it out there during the festival season,” says Sparks. “Keep your ears peeled for the extended intro and vocal versions which will be dropping soon as well.”
