
Country music’s big stars will come out for a special tornado relief telethon supporting communities in and around Nashville.
CMT has teamed up with the American Red Cross and the local NBC affiliate WSMV News 4 for the live telethon, to air Thursday (March 5) from CMT Studios in downtown Nashville.
The three-hour broadcast will kick off from 5pm ET. Performers and television personalities will be announced in the hours ahead.
Central Tennessee is reeling after tornadoes tore through the state Tuesday morning (March 3), killing at least 25 people and demolishing 140 buildings. Concert venues and music businesses are now in rebuild-mode.
The country community has rallied with a string of fundraisers and initiatives, including the CMT Country Gives Back t-shirt, which will benefit the American Red Cross Southern Tornado and Flood Relief Program.
