The Country Music Association held the annual board of directors election meeting in Nashville this week. Taking over as president of the board is Clarence Spalding, president of Spalding Entertainment.
Spalding will be joined by chairman Mike Dungan, president/CEO of Capitol Records Nashville, as the top CMA leaders. Dungan served for the past year as board president. President-elect Randy Goodman, president of Lyric Street Records, and secretary/treasurer Tim Wipperman, chief creative officer at Equity Music Group, will also serve as part of the board’s leadership. Outgoing Chairman Victor Sansone, president/GM for ABC Radio/Atlanta, remains on the board.
The new board starts Nov. 7, the day after the 2006 CMA Awards.
